Beograd and Josep Broz Tito

Josip Broz Tito, the first name that comes once we set foot at Belgrade Airport, Belgrade in Serbia. Josip Broz Tito in history to have a good friendship relations with Sukarno, first President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Tito does have a big name, he is one of five founding of the great founder of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). The four other figures is India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, President Gamal Abdul Nasser of Egypt, President Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and President Sukarno of Indonesia.

Belgrade became the birthplace and where the implementation of the first conference of Non Aligned Movement in 1961. In 2011, the Non-Aligned Movement even 50 years old. The purpose of the Non-Aligned Movement is as stated in the declaration of Havana in 1979 that contains the guarantee of independence, sovereignty, national integriras, and security of countries non-aligned movement in the struggle against imperialism, colonialism, neocolonialism, racism and all forms of aggression foreign occupation, domination, interference or hegemony, as well as against political bloc and superpower.

History tells, Tito is a great man who used to unify the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was established in 1918 and formed by Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

However, 3 days before the birthday to 88 on 22 May 1980, everything changed. Tito died at the same time leaving plenty of time bomb. First, the legitimacy of the central power began to decline. As a result of each republic to feel threatened by the other republics. Second, once muted primordial issue to be a very sensitive issue. Third, the increasingly strong demands of decentralization in the field of economics and politics of the two republics of the most wealthy during Tito's rule that Slovenia and Croatia because they feel exploited. Fourth, the demands of increasingly autonomous republic thick and strong.

And finally, Yugoslavia broke up, since that Belgrade was grim-faced. Country's new leader, Slobodan Milosevic, later even referred to as the "Tiger of Bengal", or "butcher of the Balkans", or "New Hitler", because it is considered responsible for committing genocide in the land of the former Yugoslavia.
